What to do first?
New students to Monash University Malaysia are encouraged to attend
the orientation before the semester commences. This is to prepare the
student for the coming semester. One of the most important topics is
computer accounts for new students.
If you have missed orientation, please find the following helpful.
- Get your Authcate Password
Please make you sure that you are fully enrolled. Once you have done that,
you need to register for your Authcate password. You can do so at
http://www.monash.edu.au/students/computer.
Simply fill the online form with your personal details. If you're unsure
of any of the details or encounter any errors, please seek assistance from
the ITS Service Desk, bringing along your offer letter.
- Get your Network Account
Once you have your Authcate account, you may now, register for your
Network account. All you
have to do is visit ITS Service Desk, bringing along with you:
> Your Monash student ID number.
> Your Authcate account username and password.
- Allocate your timetable
As soon as you have done the above, you will have to allocate your
timetable. You may do you at
http://allocate.cc.monash.edu.au/ This is on a first come first
serve basis. Therefore, the faster you complete 1 and 2, the better your
chances are at getting a good time slot for your
lectures/tutorials/labs.
- Printing services
Each student is given complimentary printing worth RM15 (150 copies)
at the start of each semester. Printing costs are as stated here.
Once the quota is exhausted, you may top up your print quota by making
payment at the Finance counter on Level 1 and bringing the blue copy of
the receipt to the ITS Service Desk.
- Know your limit
As all resources are available for your use, all students are to
adhere to all the Computer Lab rules & regulations. Any violation of the
rules can be subjected to disciplinary actions if caught.
