Network Account

 

General information
The Network account comprises of a unique username and password. The username is the same as the Authcate username. The username cannot be changed, whereas your password can be changed. The Network account is used to access the Monash computer lab PCs. Upon logging onto the computer, you will gain access to your course notes on the Business, IT, Science, Communication or Engineering drives. You are also given a space of 20MB on the local server to store your personal files.

Obtaining the Network account
To register for your personal Network account, please visit the ITS Service Desk. The Service Desk personnel will register your username and password. Have your offer letter ready at hand as you will need to refer to the details there.

Changing your password
It is advisable to change your password often for security reasons. However, this is entirely up to you. You may change your password by following the steps given below:

  1. Log into the computer using your existing network account.
  2. Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del
  3. A dialog box will appear with the option "Change Password"
  4. Click on that option.
  5. Follow the instructions and you've successfully changed your password.

Forgotten your password
